Primary school at the Nordhafen

The winners of the art competition for the new building of the 48th primary school in Berlin-Mitte have been announced. The jury, chaired by artist Monika Goetz, discussed all nine entries from artists and artist groups in detail and voted unanimously in favour of „Zu den Sternen“ by Jorn Ebner.

As part of the Berlin School Construction Offensive (BSO) – a model project for accelerating the construction of new schools – a new building for the 48th primary school is being built on the corner of Chausseestraße and Boyenstraße. The new building is planned for a primary school with four classes, including a sports hall and uncovered sports areas. The project is divided into the new construction of a modular extension building (MEB), the new construction of the school building with sports hall, the remodelling of the sports field and the outdoor facilities of the school. The designs were created by the architectural firm Numrich Albrecht Klumpp (NAK) Architekten. The total costs for the realisation of the winning design amount to 150,000.00 euros.
