Primary School Adalbertstraße

A new four-form entry elementary school is being built at Adalbertstraße 53 in Berlin-Mitte to meet the growing demand for primary school places in the northern part of Luisenstadt.

On June 21, 2023, the jury met for the single-phase, non-open and anonymous Kunst am Bau competition in connection with the construction of a new elementary school at Adalbertstraße 53 in 10179 Berlin. The building is being constructed as part of the Berlin School Building Initiative II.

The artists Caroline Bayer, Ahu Dural, Cécile Dupaquier, Stef Heidhues, Lucas Odahara, REINIGUNGSGESELLSCHAFT, Mandla Reuter, Nina Schuiki, Benedikt Terwiel and Simone Zaugg were invited to take part in the competition. Under the chairmanship of artist Katrin Glanz and after extensive discussion, the jury recommended the realization of the design „Where the wild animals live“ by artist Stef Heidhues.
