The Myth of the Scarcity of Money (MMT)
As early as the beginning of the 1940s, the possibilities of Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) were publicly discussed in the USA, but this view has not yet prevailed. Insights into principles of private and public money creation are still lacking in the general discourse today.
The political dimension of money is left to the "invisible hand of the market" and thus important arguments for a money that can fulfil social and ecological tasks in society are missing.
The economist and author Maurice Höfgen will present his book and his theses on "Modern Monetary Theory" (MMT) and explain why MMT is more than a modern theory of money.
